West Central FS, Inc.
is a locally owned agricultural cooperative serving producers in
Hancock and McDonough counties in Illinois. Formed on April 1,
2001, West Central FS, Inc. is the result of the merge of Hancock
Service Company and McDonough FS, Inc.
Hancock Service Co. was originally
known as Farm Bureau Supply Company and was organized by a group
of Farm Bureau leaders in May, 1923. The purpose of the
cooperative was to provide fuel and lubricants for its’
farmer-customers.
McDonough FS, Inc. was formed by
the merger of McDonough Service Company and McDonough Grain and
Milling Company in January of 1965. McDonough FS, Inc. has roots
that reach back to nearly the beginning of the cooperative system—1930.
West Central FS, Inc. has a strong
foundation, an extensive knowledge of agriculture, and is deeply
committed to the customers it serves.
